A brilliant way to always have nutritious greens on hand, to put into salads, smoothies or juices, etc., is to grow ‘micro-greens’ in your kitchen.
.
I have been doing this for some time now, and it is so easy, and so convenient.
Don’t you ever get sick of buying salad ingredients at the shops, only to find it wilting in the fridge when you go to use it?
.
Sprouting your own greens in the kitchen allows you to always have fresh ingredients right when you need them – just snip them off when you’re ready to use them.
Now, that really is reducing your food miles! It doesn’t get much better than that.
.
So, what do I grow?

There you go. I’ve brought it out in the open. I’m a self-confessed tea addict.
So, all the more reason for trying more herbal alternatives to black tea.
There is such a wide variety of herbal teas on the market these days, it shouldn’t be too difficult to find one to suit every taste bud.
Herbs are a wonderful source of valuable nutrients. They also can look great growing in the garden – and they are usually very easy to grow. Many grow as weeds, providing a very economical health boost.
Take dandelion for instance. People go to a lot of trouble to eradicate it, when they should be harvesting it instead. I went dandelion picking in my garden last summer and made dandelion root coffee. I was a bit dubious, as I had never done this before and was sure it would taste awful, by how it was looking.
I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted! I could quite happily use it as a coffee substitute.
In a later post, I’ll give the directions I followed on making it.
Another herb that is great in tea, that has valuable medicinal qualities is thyme. Great if you have any cough/lung/chest issues. Chop up some thyme, half a lemon, a cinnamon stick and add in some honey, and you’re set for winter.
Many more herbal tea posts to come…….

Eph 5:26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.
Isa 55:10 “For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.
Hos 6:3 “So let us know, let us press on to know the LORD. His going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.”

The following is a stunning vision given to American preacher Tommy Hicks (who was a major figure in the powerful 1954 Argentina Revival).
VISION OF THE BODY OF CHRIST AND THE END-TIME MINISTRIES
My message begins July 25, about 2:30 in the morning at Winnipeg, Canada. I had hardly fallen asleep when the vision and the revelation that God gave me came before me. The vision came three times, exactly in detail, the morning of July 25, 1961. I was so stirred and so moved by the revelation that this has changed my complete outlook upon the body of Christ, and upon the end-time ministries.

(Rom 12:2) And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
.
Who Am I? From where have I fallen?
.
Let’s have a look at man’s place in creation. What did he look like before the fall?
.
No shame of nakedness:
.
(Gen 2:25) And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.

Faith is our spiritual muscles.
The natural body is a picture of our spiritual body (Romans 1:19-20).
Our natural body uses muscles to accomplish work.
Our spirit uses faith to accomplish work.
As we work our natural muscles, the muscle cells enlarge, as they enlarge, it creates a demand for more food.
As we work our faith, it creates a demand for more food (Word/Revelation)
Some muscles are voluntary, some involuntary.

Do you live in the Southern Highlands of NSW?
Are you a Christian who is on the path (or would like to get on the path) to a simpler, healthier, more sustainable and Christ-like life? This could be in the form of growing your own veggies, or buying staples in bulk, cooking healthy from scratch, maybe even adopting a more ‘raw’ diet, etc.
Then I’d love to hear from you.

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN SOURDOUGH STARTER
The process I use is very simple.
Basically, flour, water and air.
.
Some people add fruit juice to get it going quicker, and perhaps for a more sure-fire result. I don’t, as I feel the mixture could then have more of an alcohol base, than a lactic acid base. (please note: I am a long way from being a scientist, so forgive my unscientific terms!)
