The good news of the gospel is that God loves you!
Yes. Even you.
You see, it doesn’t matter what you have done, or where you have been in life – the bible clearly tells us that He loves us in spite of those things.
Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses (sins), made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
Sin (wrong thoughts, words or actions) separated everybody from God.
God is holy and just and as such, sin cannot live in His presence. If He left us in this state, we would suffer the penalty of sin and eternal separation from God.
The bible tells us that ‘All of us have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God’.
This is not God’s intention for man. He wants us to be restored back to Him.
God provided the answer by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross on our behalf
Only a sinless person could pay the price (the judgement) for our sin.
Seeing as none of us were sinless, it took ‘God in human form’ to pay it on our behalf. He loved us so much that He died in our place. So that we could experience eternal life with Him.
Jesus did not stay in the grave. He rose again and is in heaven with the Father. He says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
What do I need to do to receive this life?
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Are you ready to receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, to turn from your old life, separated from God by sin?
Romans 10:13 says, ‘Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved’.
